Pakistan veteran batsman Shoaib Malik has been known for providing guidance on and off the field to whoever in need, whether they are fellow teammates or budding domestic stars and Shoaib’s advice has been helpful for many.
Multan Sultans emerging star Saif Badar, who also represented Pakistan in the U-19 World Cup, said in an interview, “It is a dream to play under Malik’s captaincy again.”
“I have played under his captaincy once for Punjab and now it will be a great moment for me to play under him again,” said the 19-year-old from Sialkot. “He is my ideal, and I use to follow him. Whenever he [Malik] was in Sialkot, I used to go and ask him, he helped me a lot,” said Badar.
Speaking about Sultan of Swing, the legendary Wasim Akram, he said, “He is a big name, a legend. I have heard about him, but never have an opportunity to meet him [Akram].” He added that he does not have any clue about his temperament.
Badar was picked by Multan Sultans in the emerging category of Pakistan Super League (PSL). His performances in the U-19 World Cup and in domestic season earned him an opportunity to play with big stars in PSL Edition 3.
He has also impressed some of the greats of the game such as Ian Bishab and Javed Miandad with his performances.
