30 Oct, 2011

The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, said that insulting language by Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif against President Asif Ali Zardari is in fact an attack on parliament and democracy in the Country.
Talking to journalists at the Allama Iqbal International Airport here on Saturday she averred that the President was elected unanimously by all the provincial assemblies of the country including Punjab Assembly pointing criticising the office of the President is unconstitutional.
The Federal Minister said that in Constitution there is procedure of impeachment and if the opposition had required numbers of votes in the parliament, they had this option to act upon. She said protests, rallies and sit-ins are beauty of democracy and politics is incomplete without them but the PML-N leadership used dirty language in the protest which is unacceptable. She said her party is the mentor of politics of rallies and sit-in (Dharna) and is never afraid of these.
