Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry constituted three benches in Islamabad Registry to hear high profile cases from Monday. Among other cases the SC will also hear a constitutional petition, seeking action against the elites of political parties, bureaucracy, retired army officers, judges of superior judiciary and business tycoons who were alleged for looting national wealth and stashed it in secret accounts in various countries.
Muhammad Ali Durrani, a Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Senator has filed the petition through Mian Allah Nawaz under Article 184 (3) of the Constitution of Pakistan making as many as 27 respondents The bench-I would be headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry with Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Parvez, the bench-II comprising Justice Nasir-Ul-Mulk, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Amir Hani Muslim, the bench-III would be comprising Justice Muhammad Sair Ali and Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmani.
