At least three persons lost their lives in separate mishaps at various parts of the metropolis here on Saturday. According to police and rescue sources, a man committed suicide in his house located in Mohajir Chowk Orangi Town in the limits of Mominabad police station.
The victim was identified as Imran, 28, son of Noman, a resident of Sector 10 Mohajir Chowk Orangi Town. They said the deceased hung himself at ceiling with the help of ropes. Police said the body of the victim, who was the father of a daughter; was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities and later handed over to his family.
A young man lost his life in road accident near Al Asif Square in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The victim 28-year-old Zardad son of Khawar Latif, a resident of Nazimabad area, was knocked by a speedy truck when he was travelling on his motorcycle near Sohrab Goth. Resultantly, he received fatal wounds and died on the spot. The body was shifted to ASH for legal formalities and later handed over to his family. No case was registered till filing of this report.
Similarly, a seven-year-old girl was crushed to death in a road accident at Bismillah Colony Orangi Town within the jurisdiction of Mominabad police station. The victim Samina daughter of Ata Mir was hit by speedy truck when she was playing outside her home. Later, Area people caught the driver namely Ata-Ur-Rehman and handed over to police. The body was shifted to ASH for legal formalities. Police said victim hailed from Waziristan and her father was a labourer by his profession. A case No 387/11 was registered against driver.
