Five more killed in targeted killings

The unabated targeted killings continued in the city as five more persons were killed in separate incidents at various parts of the metropolis, here on Saturday. According to police and rescue sources, a 28-year-old Muhammad Riyaz son of Saeed was killed in drive-by shooting at Khayaban-e-Shamsheer, Phase V in the limits of Darakshan police station.
They said the victim, who was massager by his profession and a resident of Cantt area, was targeted by unknown-armed assailants. They said the deceased, who hailed from Bhawalpur, was killed over the suspicious of police informer. A case 391/11 was registered on the complaint of sub-inspector Ali Anwar and initiated probe in this connection. Similarly, a-24-year-old Noor Khan Mehsud son of Noor Hasan Mehsud was gunned down by unknown-armed riders at sector IV of Sultanabad in the jurisdiction of Mangopir police station.
Police said the victim, who was the resident of Kuwari colony, Mangopir, received eight bullets and died on the spot. They suspected that he might have been murdered over personal enmity. Further investigation was underway. A three-day-old body was found from the bushes near Radio Pakistan in Pretty police remits. The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained while police found the body from the bushes near Radio Pakistan. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) where doctor described that the deceased received fatal head injuries when he was hit by sharp edge weapon. Later the body was transported to Edhi Morgue till identification.
A 46-year-old Raza Abbas, son of Ghulam Saqlain was shot dead when he was in his car parked outside local shopping centre at main University Road in the jurisdiction of Mobina Town police station. The shooters targeted him thrice and escaped from the scene in his car along with his five-year-old daughter Rehana. Later, the culprits dropped her from the car and managed to flee in leaps and bounds. Police said the deceased used to work at Private Insurance Company and might have been killed over resistance during snatching bid. Yet another man was shot dead near Numaish Round about in the jurisdiction of Soldier Bazaar police station. The victim Kamran, 28 son of Haroon a resident of Khadda Market was targeted when he was crossing the road.
