The Transport Department of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced separate fare list for the CNG run vehicles in the province. According to details, new fare charges for flying coaches and mini buses have been fixed as 77-paisa, AC buses as 97-paisa, ordinary buses 62-paisa and luxury buses 72-paisa per KM per passenger.
In a letter addressed to all Regional Transport Authorities (RTAs) in the province to pass on relief to the passengers, they have been asked to display the new fare rates at visible places in General Bus Stands in their jurisdiction and inside commuters' vehicles for information of transporters and passengers.
They have also been directed that the violating transporters and drivers may be brought to book under intimation to Provincial Transport Authority. The new fare charges from Peshawar to various cities would be as follows. Peshawar-Mardan, flying coaches Rs 44.66, AC buses Rs 56.26, ordinary buses Rs 35.96 and luxury buses Rs 41.76, respectively while Peshawar-Mingora as Rs 132.44 for flying coach and Rs 166.84 for AC buses, Peshawar-Swabi Rs 91.63 and Rs 115.43.
Peshawar-Charsadda 20.79 and Rs 26.19, Peshawar-Bannu Rs 147.84 and Rs 186.24, Peshawar-D I Khan Rs 258.72 and Rs 325.92, Peshawar-Kohat Rs 50.05 and Rs 63.91, Peshawar Hangu Rs 79.31 and Rs 99.91, Peshawar-Dir Rs 192.5 and Rs 242.5, Peshawar-Haripur Rs 120.12 and Rs 151.32, Peshawar-Abbottabad Rs 148.61 and Rs 187.21, Peshawar-Mansehra Rs 167.09 and Rs 210.49. Peshawar-Topi Rs 103.95 for flying coach and Rs 130.95 for AC bus, respectively.
It has also been clarified that the existing concession of 50 percent in the actual fare allowed to the students of educational institutions, deeni madarassa, blind/disabled persons and the passengers above the age of 60 years shall continue. In case the air-condition system is not working in air-conditioned vehicles, then fares of deluxe stage carriage bus will be charged.-PR
