Minister inaugurates PIA Boeing 777 flight simulator

Minister for Defence and Chairman PIA Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar inaugurated the state of art PIA Boeing 777 flight simulator installed at PIA Training Centre, PIA spokesman said here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Defence and Chairman PIA, Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar said that the installation of the flight simulator will prove to be a good omen for turning around PIA as the present government is keenly looking forward to the growth of the national flag carrier. It is expected that with the approved business plan, PIA would be profitable in the next five years.
He said that PIA will soon start acquiring new aircraft by 2012 which will enable the airline provide better air service to the people of Pakistan as well as attract passengers from other countries.
Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar added that under a phased programme 30 new aircraft would be included to make the fleet younger and increase its strength to 70 aeroplanes in PIA fleet.
Earlier, Managing Director PIA, Nadeem Khan Yousufzai said that now the airline may boost of an impressive Simulator Training Centre which includes three full flight simulators of Boeing 747-200, Airbus A310-300 and the latest addition of Boeing 777 Flight Simulator makes the airline self sufficient to meet the training needs of its cockpit crew. He hoped that soon simulators for other aircraft would also be made available.-PR
