The after tax loss of Pakistan International Airlines has increased to Rs 19.294 billion in the nine-month period ended September 30, 2011 as compared to Rs 11.099 billion in the corresponding period in 2010.
The board of directors of PIA in its meeting held on October 29, 2011 declared that the corporation's loss per A class ordinary share of Rs 10 each has increased to Rs 7.23 in the period under review against per share loss of Rs 4.55 in the same period last year while the per share loss of B class ordinary share of Rs 5 each stood at Rs 3.62 in this period against Rs 2.28 in the same period last year.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, PIA's net revenue increased to Rs 83.615 billion during the period against Rs 74.360 billion in the same period last year. In the cost of services, the aircraft fuel increased to Rs 45.384 billion against Rs 30.654 billion while other increased to Rs 37.422 billion against Rs 35.398 billion. The loss before taxation increased to Rs 18.404 billion in the nine-month period in 2011 against Rs 10.351 billion in the same period last year.
