US team calls on Commissioner

A delegation headed by US Counsul General Ms Neena M Fite called on Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain here on Tuesday at his office. The Commissioner welcomed the delegation and gave briefing about the historical, geographical, cultural and industrial back ground of the Faisalabad.
He informed that the development and population of this region was initiated after introducing the canal system and Faisalabad had gained industrial and agricultural development rapidly and now it was third largest city of Pakistan. He said that the govt had established mega projects of industrial estate and value-added city out site the city area keeping in the view the problems confronted to the urban population due to the unplanned growth of industries in the city.
He said that the Faisalabad Development Authority, Wasa and other nation building department were working for providing clean water, sewerage, health and education facilities to the citizens. The Commissioner informed that the young industrial entrepreneurs had established Faisalabad Development Trust and various projects for the beautification of the city, uplift of the health and education institutions and welfare of the poor population were being unter taken by this trust which was a valuable co-operation with the govt. The Commissioner thanked the delegation for visiting Faisalabad. US Counsul General said that there were a lot of opportunity to raise the bilateral co-operation between the two countries in industrial, agriculture and other social sectors. She thanked the divisional administration for warm welcome and excellent hospitality.
