Vice Admiral Abbas Raza has taken over the charge of Commander Karachi with immediate effect. An ISPR (Navy) press release on Tuesday said that in capacity of Commander Karachi, he would be Incharge of all Pakistan Navy units and establishments ashore at Karachi. It said that Vice Admiral Abbas Raza got commission in Pakistan Navy in 1975.
He has served on various Command and Staff appointments including Deputy Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Commanding Officer of Frigate class ships, Commander Auxiliary and Mine Warfare Squadron, Principal Secretary to Chief of the Naval Staff, Naval Attache in France, Director General Joint Warfare and Training, Director General Joint Staff Headquarters and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations). Before taking over as Commander Karachi, he was holding the appointment of Commander Pakistan Fleet.
