Decision to keep shops open on eve of Eid hailed

President Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) Afan Aziz on Thursday welcomed the decision of the district government for keeping shopping centres and bazaars open in Peshawar on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. The SCCI held a meeting with DCO Peshawar, Siraj Ahmad Khan and SSP Operation Tahir Ayub to discuss the business community's reservations over the closure of markets and shops during Eid-ul-Azha.
The president SCCI said that the officials of the district government and police department had assured them that the concerns of the business community would be removed. "We express gratitude to district government, DCO Peshawar, Siraj Ahmad Khan, Station Commanded Cantonment Board, Brigadier Abdul Baki Malik, Brigadier Farooq and SSP operation Tahir Ayub for accepting our demand," he said.
Aziz said that the decision was the biggest achievement of the business community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Businessmen Forum and vowed that the SCCI body under the banner of Businessmen Forum would continue their support and co-operation in the best interest of the business community.
