The AdAsia is held once in two years under the auspices of AFFA.The first Adasia was held in 1958 at Tokyo Japan. India has the distinction of hosting it Four times - 1970, 1982, 2003 and now in 2011.
A global event it provides a huge platform for people to listen to the leaders and captains of the advertising world. It is a fabulous opportunity to know what are the prevailing trends in advertising in Asia and also a God send opportunity to network with professionals from all over the world. As the event is held at a new place every two years one also gets an opportunity to explore a new place, know the people, pip into their culture and try out their cuisine.
Over the years the format has been the more serious seminars in the morning to be followed by an entertainment filled evening. This pattern has been well received by the industry and hence not reinvented. The Adclub over the years has played a very important role in mobilising a huge delegation for Adasia held the world over. In fact it played the critical role of the Secretariat for the much sung Adasia 2003 held at Jaipur.
I take this opportunity to wish all the members of the Adasia 2011 organising team all the very best. One look at the impressive line up of speakers and you are assured of the content being extremely well handled. They will most certainly do an outstanding job and will make India proud.
