10 Nov, 2011

Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Wednesday stressed the need for transferral of Allama Iqbal's philosophy to the patriotic people of Pakistan. He was talking to newsmen during his visit to the mausoleum of national poet Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal on the eve of Iqbal Day.
The Governor said bowing down before the dictatorial, undemocratic and un-Islamic forces would not only be a deviation from the teachings of Islam but also the philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, who was a staunch supporter of unity of entire Muslim world and the democracy.
The people, who had always betrayed democracy and the democratic process and could not maintain their existence without being in power (government), could never understand the real essence of Iqbal's ideology and philosophy, he responded to a questioner.
To a query, the Governor said that today, Pakistan could not afford hatred and enmity, adding that they (PML-N) had also signed the Charter of Democracy. But unfortunately, they used to back out later by saying that they had done it in ignorance, however, the masses were now mature and aware of everything, he said and quoted a poetic verse, "Sub Khuch Seekha Hum Ney-Na Seekhi Hoshiyari."
About Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf public meeting at Lahore, Khosa said, though "Imran Khan ke leye abhhi Dilli Door Ast hey" (Imran will have to surpass many stages to come into power), his political show had grabbed peace of mind from the PML-N leadership.
The Governor said, "Today, we have to reiterate our pledge at Mazar-e-Iqbal to understand and promote the real meaning of Iqbal's philosophy, and start building of a prosperous Pakistan, as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed."
Khosa also stressed the need for inculcating Allama Iqbal's philosophy among the youth, besides focusing on the Unity, Faith and Discipline. "We have to eliminate hatred, and wage war against poverty and ignorance," he asserted. The Governor also offered Fateha and laid a wreath at the mausoleum and noted his impressions about the Poet of East in the Visitors Log.
