Taiwan stocks ended up 0.8 percent in a rebound on Friday, led by tech heavyweights Hon Hai and TSMC following strong sales results for October. The main TAIEX index finished up 58.61 points at 7,367.29, in a recovery from the 3.35 percent loss in the previous session. Apple supplier Hon Hai advanced 4.05 percent after it posted record monthly sales. TSMC, the world's top contract chip maker, jumped 1.1 percent.
LCD panel makers Chimei Innolux and AU Optronics both surged almost by the 7 percent daily limit, amid hopes they might get a relief from their heavy losses this year as demand could pick up from China. Chinatrust Financial, Taiwan's No 1 credit card issuer, rose 1.13 percent.
