Secretary Ministry of Housing and Works, Kamran Lashari has directed Estate Office to take action against those who were given official residences out of turn in Islamabad and get these houses vacated immediately. He said this while chairing a meeting with the officials of Ministry of Housing and officials from State Office on Monday. Estate Officer Asim Ayub was also present in the meeting.
Kamran Lashari ordered that merit should be observed and directed to implement Supreme Court's Judgement to its letter and spirit. He said that Ministry of Housing and Works in order to adopt strict policy of rules and merit and in light of directions passed by Supreme Court shall make allotments of Government residences strictly as per rules and General waiting list.
He said that Enforcement Department of the Estate Office would be made strong. He said that all eligible government employees are advised to verify their particulars as maintained by Estate office in General waiting list. Moreover, all those who have not got themselves registered are advised to get their name registered at the earliest. He said that all Federal Government Servants who are already registered in general waiting list are advised to contact estate office for addressal of discrepancy if any with documentary proof.
Kamran Lashari directed Estate office to take across the board action against the people illegally occupying the official residences in the federal capital and ensure vacation of the houses, allotted illegally to the influential people. He further directed the Estate Office to ensure that the government's residences should be allotted in accordance with the law and in a transparent manner.
He said that if anybody tried to create hurdles to initiate allotment of government's residences to the deserving candidates in a transparent manner, the ICT Police be informed so that it could ensure protection to them. He asked the estate officer to take bold steps for resolving the matter in the best interest of deserving people and added that official residences should be allotted in a transparent manner. Lashari also directed Estate officer to implement Rule 15/2 and Rule 9 (Allocation and Allotment Rule) in a transparent manner.
