National Assembly pays tribute to late Begum Nusrat Bhutto

The National Assembly on Monday paid tribute to late Begum Nusrat Bhutto, former chairperson of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), for her services and sacrifices for the restoration of democracy in the country. Federal Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar moved a motion in the House and requested the Chair to attribute the day to late Nusrat Bhutto by suspending the business of the day, besides offering Fateha for her departed soul.
Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim said that late Nusrat Bhutto was mother of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and wife of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He said: "I pay tribute to Begum Nusrat Bhutto on my behahlf, my colleagues and people of Pakistan."
Shakeela Khanam Rasheed said that she wanted to pay tribute to the late leader who faced problems with courage during her life. Nusrat Bhutto was a great lady who sacrificed her husband, Quaid-e-Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, her two sons and her daughter, Shaheed-e-Jamhooriat Benazir Bhutto for democracy. She said Nusrat Bhutto was an ideal female leader and ladies in politics should follow her life. Raja Pervez Ashraf, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed of PML-N, Abdul Qadar Khanzada of MQM and others also paid tribute to Begum Nusrat Bhutto.
