Sindh police claimed on Monday to have arrested another accused involved in the kidnapping of an infant from National Institute of Child Health (NICH). Police said that all the culprits involved in the kidnapping of an infant from NICH few hours after his birth had been arrested and the department was going to submit a charge sheet against them in court within two days.
They said the accused woman, who was identified as Gul Bibi, was arrested from Memon Goth on the information of the prime suspect, Sobia Saleem. Police claimed the accused woman committed the crime for just Rs 10,000. It may be mentioned here that on Sunday the police had arrested the prime accused Sobia Saleem who was third-year student in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and the trainee nurse of NICH. The couple, who got the infant against Rs 40,000, was also arrested on the information of Sobia.
The mastermind of the crime was the trainee nurse, who convinced Gul Bibi to take the infant away from the hospital. The prime accused during an initial investigation revealed that the nurse took her inside the nursery where she handed over the baby to her and asked to go to the private hospital located in Malir. All suspects were produced in court on Monday and later the court sent all of them to jail.
