US musical band enthralls audience

An American musical band, 'FEW Collective" enthralled audience at a musical night at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) on Tuesday. The US embassy in Islamabad in association with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) arranged the colorful gala at the PNCA Auditorium as part of a cultural exchange programme.
FEW is an artist's collective that believes in the power of art to engage, educate and inspire. The collective combines traditional forms of music, dance and art with elements to Hip Hop and theater to address contemporary issues. The band performed in the federal capital, promoting culture exchange while using art and culture as a tool. Musician presented songs in the different languages with dances.
Addressing the opening ceremony, US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter said that this is a way to exchange culture. Culture exchange between the two countries would help in mutual understanding. He further said that US Mission in Pakistan is supporting exchanges which will bring American artists to Pakistan and provide Pakistani artists the opportunity to tour the US. American performing arts groups will have an opportunity to collaborate with Pakistani artists, lead workshops and perform for audience.
US Ambassador and his wife were inspired and enthralled by selective verses of 'sufi' poetry. FEW Collective, works with "the Inter-city Muslim Action Network (IMAN), a community-based non-profit organisation in Chicago that arranges programme for social justice, provides direct services and cultivates the taste of arts in urban communities.
