Ulema urged to play role for social harmony

Minister Auqaf, Labour and Religious Affairs Punjab, Haji Ehsan-ud-din-Qureshi has said world peace can be established by following the teachings of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). He asked the ulema and mashaikh to play an effective role to promote religious harmony, tolerance and social equality.
Addressing Hazrat Usman-e-Ghani (R.A) conference at Aiwan-e-Auqaf he said that Hazrat-e-Usman (R.A) followed the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and sacrificed his wealth for the sake of Islam. Extremism and violence can be eliminated from the world by getting guidance through the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as well as acting upon the footprints of Khulfa-e-Rashideen.
Secretary Auqaf, DG Religious Affairs, Dr Mazhar Moin and Pir Hasnaat Shah also spoke on the occasion, whereas, a large number of Ulema and Mushaaikh were present at the conference. Haji Ehsan-ud-din-Qureshi said that ulema have great respect in the society and they should promote the concept of love, brotherhood and mutual tolerance for the establishment of peace in the world.
He said that Holy Prophet (PBUH) also spread the same message as the Islam teaches the lesson of peace, harmony and equality among the masses and by following the Uswa-E-Hasana of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) an atmosphere of amity and tranquility could be created in the society, he added.
