Special Invest-igation Unit (SIU) of Sindh police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two alleged dacoits after brief encounter in the limits of Jamsheed Quarter police station. According to SSP Raja Umar Khattab, the information was received that two bandits, who were involved in several recent bank robberies, were hiding in a place located near Islamia College in Jamsheed Quarter police remits.
Following the information, a team of SIU raided on the spot and arrested two dacoits namely Suleman alias Maaki son of Muhammad Yousaf and Rizwan alias Bonda son of Marghoob Ali and recovered two TT pistols and several live rounds from them. He said these persons along with other accomplices claimed a live of Amjad Baloch after looting Rs 30,000 from him and added that they were also involved in Mehmoodabad and Gulberg bank robberies. Further investigation was underway to nab their other accomplices.
