Arrangements for making Gwadar winter capital reviewed

Chief Secretary Balochistan Mir Ahmad Bakhsh Lehri has visited coastal town of Gwadar to review the arrangements to make it winter capital of Balochistan. According to a handout issued here on Wednesday, on the instructions of Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani, CS Balochistan Mir Lehri along with Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Balochistan Hafiz Abdul Basit visited Gwadar to review arrangements in connection with building of office premises for key government departments.
Speaking on the occasion, the CS Balochistan viewed that Gwadar had capacity to become one of best seaports of the world due to its geographical position. "We are going to make Gwadar winter capital of Balochistan in order to boost trade activities and make this port functional," Mir Lehri said.
He said that ports used to play vital role in economic development of any country, adding that with turning Gwadar as trade centre would help removing sense of deprivation amongst local people. He said that serious measures were being taken to make Gwadar winter capital of Balochistan during period from October to March. He along with Hafiz Abdul Basit inspected various official premises including District and Provincial Complex, Sangar Housing Scheme Rest House, Pearl Continental Hotel, BCDA Complex, College Complex, Fisheries Complex and others.
Commissioner Makran Division Muhammad Aslam Jamali, Deputy Commissioner Makran Abdul Rehman Dashti and Director General Gwadar Development Authority Shoaib Ahmed Gola were also present. Meanwhile, official sources told newsmen that 32 percent construction work on Sarbandar Jetty project and 75 percent construction work on District and Provincial Complex project in Gwadar had been completed.
