Implementation of IP gas pipeline project is in progress

The implementation of the Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project is in progress with pace, as the first gas flow is targeted by end of 2014. The route reconnaissance survey has been completed three months ago while the consultant is currently working on the pipeline design and engineering as well as feasibility study.
The estimated project cost is $1.5 billion, however, this will be firmed up after completion of a bankable feasibility study, an official concerned told APP on Wednesday. The official said pursuant to the clearance by the authorities concerned, the Engineering and Project Management (E&PM) consultancy contract with ILF NESPAK JV was already in place. The consultant has already started work on the Detailed Route Survey (DRS) and Front End Engineering Design (FEED).
