APNS flays Sindh government advertisement malpractices

The APNS has strongly flayed the advertisement malpractices prevailing in the Sindh Information Department which have aggravated during the present setup", stated a press release of the APNS.
The APNS Medium - Sized Metropolitan Publications Committee at its meeting chaired by its Convenor, Ms Qudsia K Khan, has deplored the practices of corruption and kickbacks in the release of provincial government's advertisements and noted with concern that the advertisements to ghost publications which are either being released on greasing the palms of top officials or are owned/patronised by the public representatives belonging to the ruling party.
The members noted that some newspapers, which are known for their affiliations to the leadership of ruling party, are being released thousands of centimetres every month, whereas the longstanding, genuine publications are completely ignored despite various representations.
The members also observed that the same malpractices are being applied in the release of payments whereas the dues of genuine publications for many years are outstanding. The members also noted that some favourite publications have been paid in advance against advertisements to be released in the future. The members attending the Committee urged the Sindh Chief Minister to take notice of the affairs at Sindh Information Department as it would badly affect the APNS and provincial government relations which have otherwise been very cordial in the past.-PR
