Muharram security arrangements: Punjab government constitutes cabinet committee

The Punjab government has on Wednesday constituted a cabinet committee to monitor the security and other arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.
According to an official, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Senior Advisor to Chief Minister, will be chairman of the committee, while Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Law, Haji Ehsaanuddin Qureshi, Minister for Aquaf, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Jehanzeb Burki, Advisor to CM, Colonel Shuja Khanzada (Retd), MPA, the Punjab Chief Secretary, the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Punjab Home Secretary, provincial secretaries of health, information and auqaf, Additional Inspector General of Police Special Branch and Additional Inspector General of Police CTD will be its members. Provincial Secretary (I&C) will work as Secretary of the committee.
The committee shall have the powers to co-opt or invite any person by special invitation. The committee will meet on daily basis to monitor the security arrangements in the province regarding Muharram and shall be empowered to take decisions accordingly. The Committee will also submit daily situation report to the Chief Minister.
