Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Masood Kausar on Wednesday urged the tribesmen to be vigilant of the elements, who might re-emerge to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in Fata, which had been restored after many sacrifices and efforts by the law enforcement agencies and political administration.
"Tribal people are no doubt peace-loving, but a handful of elements are there to disrupt peace for their ulterior motives", the Governor said urging the tribesmen to be aware of such elements. He was talking to a 14-member delegation of elders of Orakzai Agency, which led by Malik Naseer Hussain called on him at Governor's House here. The delegation apprised the Governor of the problems and difficulties of the people of the respective area and sought for his intervention to resolve the problems that were mostly related to education, health, communication and water supply sectors.
Masood Kausar also issued orders to the concerned officials on some of their demands. He said that sectarian hatred was one of the issues that led to disturbances. "Those who are found fanning sectarian hatred must be identified to take them to task" he said adding that the people should promote religious harmony, tolerance and cohesion in the society.
"Peace in Kurram Agency has been restored after passing through a difficult situation and making hectic efforts", he said adding that peace in Kurram Agency would be maintained at every cost and no one would be allowed to disrupt it again.
Governor Masood Kausar said that Fata had been brought to the political mainstream and hoped that political activities will also help discourage extremism and terrorism. He said that Fata Reforms were a phased process and it would continue with the passage of time.
