The AJK Education Minister Mian Abdul Waheed has said the government will soon introduce reforms to bring revolutionary progress in the education sector by providing quality education harmonious to the modern needs. Talking to newsmen in Muzaffarabad late Wednesday he said the reforms were being brought about under the national educational policy-2009 already enforced in the state.
Waheed continued that since the importance of primary education could not be set aside, the educational reforms were being introduced for the dispensation of quality education from grass-root level. The minister disclosed that the reforms would also benefit primary teachers as their Basic Pay Scales would be up-graded from grade 7 to 14. Graduation (B.A, B.Sc or B.Ed) would be the basic qualification for a teacher of primary level," he added. Under the reforms, the recruitment of teachers for primary level would be made through the Public Service Commission, the minister said.
