19 Nov, 2011

Sindh Police have decided to reactivate Madadgar 15 help-line centres in various localities of the metropolis to tackle different crimes including street crimes and dacoities/robberies and terrorism. Inspector General of Police, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah has formally directed to make Madagar 15 centres functional by December 1, 2011.
The decision was taken at a high level meeting held under the chairmanship of the IGP, here on Friday. The IGP called for further strengthening of intelligence work and reactivation/revival of Madadgar 15 network in different areas of the metropolis. He ordered phased rehabilitation of old Madadgar centres and creation of more centres keeping in view crime analysis/pattern. He directed to set up the centres at prominent places in the city, adding that the locations must be carefully decided to reduce response time to minimum ie 3-5 minutes.
He further directed that these centres should be self contained, having communication, transport and manpower etc and well-trained & courteous staff to respond to the complaint instantly. He stressed the need to clearly display the board of Madadgar 15 so that needy people could also approach these offices easily. He also highlighted the importance of awareness campaign with regard to this step to educate and involve the community.
