National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has devised a procedure to establish identity of eunuchs for their speedy registration, though no medical proof is demanded from them.
Deputy Chairman Nadra, Tariq Malik said that in addition to registration centres across the country, the authority has also deployed Mobile Registration Vans (MRVs) to facilitate eunuchs for their registration in the remote areas.
Talking to APP here on Sunday, he said their registration is carried out without any medical proof on their given particulars and details at the time of registration. He said as per Supreme Court's instructions the third genders could have male transgender, female transgender or "khunsa-e-mushkil" written on their ID card as per their own will. He said that the authority is already issuing CNICs to the third genders and instructions have been sent to all Nadra offices to facilitate eunuchs for the registration in the light of Supreme Court's instructions.
Deputy chairman Nadra mentioned that all registered eunuchs will be eligible to cast vote as citizens of Pakistan in general election and their names are added in electoral rolls. He added that Nadra being the guardian of national database ensures registration of all citizens irrespective of their caste or creed.
