MQM chief Altaf Hussain had announced the decision to constitute a CEC of the party in March last, which was formally declared by Dr Farooq Sattar on Sunday at a press conference here at Lal Qila Ground, Azizabad.
Farooq Sattar, who was flanked by other members of MQM Coordination Committee, said the CEC comprises of members hailing from all the provinces, nationalities and minorities as well and that it would assist MQM Coordination Committee and the party in organisational matters, policy-making and manifesto issues.
The CEC would meet at least once every three months and the Rabita (coordination) Committee would preside over its meeting, he added. The committee will not only assist the co-ordination committee in structuring of the party, policy issues, propagation of party policies but also in preparation of the party manifesto and holding of its programmes.
