The Lahore High Court (LHC) here Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking action against Pakistani ambassador to United State of America (US) Hussain Haqqani under Article 6. Helms Foundation through its counsel Safdar Shaheen Peerzada submitted that Haqqani allegedly wrote a confidential memorandum (letter) to former US military Chief Mike Mullen against Pakistan Army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
He stated the controversial letter was written on behalf of federal government, which damaged the image of Pakistan and army in the world. He said that later Haqqani handed over this later to Mansor Ijaz, a US based businessman, who forwarded it to Mullen.
Advocate Peerzada submitted that the role and conduct of Haqqani was doubtful in the whole episode. He further submitted that Haqqani has issued visas to American spies like Raymond Devis for his personal interests and his act fall under the Article 6 of constitution.
