Pension, medical allowances - seeks reply from federal government

23 Nov, 2011

The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought reply from the federal government within two weeks on a petition against not increasing pension and medical allowance to LHC judges who were retired due to taking oath under Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO) of November 3, 2007.
The petitioner Justice Nasim Sikandar (Retd) contended that the government recently announced 75 percent increase in pension and 20 percent in medical allowance for retired judges of high courts but the same facility has not been extended to PCO judges. He pointed out that he had taken oath under PCO but later tendered his resignation. He said by doing so he became a retired judge of LHC and entitled to all facilities available to retired judges.
