Low sui gas pressure hits domestic consumers

A very low Sui gas pressure hits domestic consumers and CNG users in almost all areas of Multan including Hassan Parwana Colony, Wilayatabad, Amirabad, Gulberg, Writers Colony, Masoom Shah Road, Farooqpura, Shamsabad, New Multan, Shah Rukn-i-Alam.

A number of housewives told on phone that they were facing acute shortage of natural gas during the breakfast and lunch hours and they were forced to purchase meal from the market. Domestic consumers were experiencing low pressure even during the closure of CNG station and suspension of gas supply to the industry.
As the winter season is touching its peak, people of different areas, especially residents of Jalilabad, Hassan Parwana, Wilayatabad, Waqas town, Garden Town, Tawakkal town, Suraj Kund Road, Mumtazabad faced low gas pressure and complained that Sui gas pressure suddenly decreases during the early morning and evening. Long queues were also witnessed outside the LPG shops to purchase the cylinders, Rabia Khan a resident of MDA Chowk said the problem of low gas pressure started early in the morning and continued till evening as a result women faced problems while cooking.
The motorists said CNG outlets in the area could not provide gas owing to low gas pressure. People of other areas especially walled city also complained about unavailability of gas, while the CNG stations were not selling gas because of low gas pressure. Rana Pervaiz Hameed of Neelkot, said he could not get CNG on Sunday night for his vehicle due to low gas pressure at the CNG stations. When contacted a Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) official said the gas supply to some areas of Multan was in low pressure due to low temperature.
He said the SNGPL officials were working day and night to maintain the pressure for domestic consumers for uninterrupted gas supply to all areas. On Monday morning, rush was witnessed at tandoors and bakeries in different localities as there was no gas pressure to cook. On Sunday and Monday morning when the citizens woke up and women went to kitchens to prepare breakfast, there was no gas pressure. Low gas pressure forced the citizens to buy breakfast. The citizens urged the government and authorities concerned to take solid steps and find an immediate solution to the problem.
