Muharram to begin tomorrow

The new Muharram moon may be sighted today (Saturday), according to astronomical parameters. Therefore, the first of Muharram, 1433 AH should fall on Sunday. The moon crossed the conjunction line yesterday (Friday) at 1110 Pakistan Standard Time (PST). The sunset today will be at 1743 PST, and the evening civil twilight (ECTL) will be at 1807 PST. The moon will set at 1852 PST.
Thus the age of the new moon will be 30 hours and 57 minutes at ECTL. It will set 69 minutes after sunset and 45 minutes after ECTL. At ECTL the moon will be at an altitude of seven degrees and 50 minutes. It will be at an azimuth of 240 degrees and eight minutes. The weather is expected to be fair.
