Import of spices increases by 30.55 percent

The country's import of spices has increased by 30.55 percent to $11.821 in October this year as compared to the import of spice $9.055 million in October 2010, showing a rise of $2.766 million, according to the official statistics.
The country imported spice of $37.783 million during July-October period of fiscal year 2011 as compared to the import of spices $33.515 million in the same period of the last fiscal year, depicting a rise of 12.73 percent or $4.268 million. According to the statistics, on a monthly basis, spices import has recorded 6.7 per cent or $0.743 million increase in October this year as compared to the import of spice of $11.078 million in September this year.
