Security demanded for Afaq

27 Nov, 2011

Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi) on Saturday demanded of the government to ensure foolproof security to the party chairman Afaq Ahmed. MQM-H Vice Chairman Shamshad Khan Ghauri addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club said Afaq had been granted bail in the last case and there was no further case against him. Our leader faced attempts on life four times. Now he is facing life threat after his release, he added.
Ghauri said the party does not rely on police security, hence Rangers protection is a must. He warned the authorities against any negligence or security lapse. The party workers won't tolerate any lapse in this regard, he added. Shamshad said the government should see the ground realities and not succumb to any pressure in providing Rangers protection to the party leader.
He said cases against Afaq Ahmed have been closed and he has been granted bail in last case also. Now it is obligatory upon the government to take measures to provide security to him. He extended the party support to Zulfiqar Mirza for unveiling truth.
