200 flood-affected families provided cash relief

Pakistan Village Development Programme distributed cash relief among 200 flood-affected poor and destitute people of Momin Ghari and Camp Koroona in district Nowshera with the assistance of an international relief agency 'TROCAIR'.
PVDP and TROCAIR have initiated to give financial assistance to 500 poor and destitute flood-affected families of the Union Council, Mohib Banda, district Nowshera. Cash relief was distributed among 200 flood-affected families of Momin Ghari and Camp Koroona. Under the project, each family was paid an amount of Rs 14,000.
In the initial stage, 100 families of Jabba, Daudzai were given first instalment of Rs 7,000 each. Cheques of the remaining instalment will be distributed in the next phase of distribution. Relief cheques were distributed under the supervision of Project Co-ordinator PVDP, Imran Iqbal, Manager Operations, Ziaullah Khan and committees comprising local elders. Programme Manager, PVDP, Zia-ul-Haq and Assistant Project Co-ordinator, Zafarul Islam were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ziaullah Khan said that widows, orphans, poor and special persons have been given priority in the distribution of cash relief. He said that more cash relief will be distributed on equal basis amongst 200 flood affected families of Banda Sheikh Ismail, Banda Miangaan.
