Goods worth millions of rupees gutted in factory fire

A fire, which broke out on Monday in a plastic factory, located in the jurisdiction of New Karachi Industrial Area police, turned into ashes commodities worth millions of rupees. "At around 2 pm, we were informed by a caller, who might have been a watchman in the factory, that fire had broken out in a plastic factory due to short circuit," officials in fire brigade department said.
Reacting on this information, some four fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot, they added. They said that a plastic factory and a timber godown, located in Godhra area, were completely gutted in fire before fire tenders reached the scene. More tenders were then called for backup. Later, 20 fire tenders and two snorkels were dispatched to the incident place. They said the fire was brought in control in about three hours. However, nobody was reported hurt in the incident. Fire department officials said the goods in the plastic factory and a timber godown worth millions of rupees were burnt to ashes. and added that the cause of fire was short circuit.
