President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday, on the advice of the Prime Minister, approved the conferment of Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) on Admiral M Asif Sandhila, Chief of the Naval Staff.
The award of Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) is conferrable upon the officers of the rank of General or equivalent, having long meritorious service of exemplary nature, on case to case basis, in terms of Article 3(1) read with Article 4(2)(a) of Annex-N of the Warrant of Institution of Operational and Non-operational Awards of the Armed Forces.
Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said that considering long meritorious services of exemplary nature of Admiral M Asif Sandhila, Chief of the Naval Staff, the Ministry of Defence had recommended to the Prime Minister to advise the President for conferment the said award to Admiral M Asif Sandhila.-PR
