Lahore High Court here Tuesday sought reply from federal government and Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) by December 19 in a writ petition questioning alleged irregularities by the authority in awarding of quota for liquefied natural gas. The petitioner a bar member Javed Iqbal Jafree alleged that the Ogra awarded LNG quotas to two private companies without inviting open tender.
He said government also leased out its precious land to these two companies on throwaway prices. The petitioner further alleged that the government was busy in purchasing LNG from these companies on price much higher to market price.
