'Jundullah Group involved in Karachi unrest'

The Karachi Police Department's intelligence unit has thwarted a major act of terrorism during Muharram by arresting 5 accused having affiliation with Jundullah group-an off-shoot of al Qaeda network. "It is concerted efforts of our CIA's Special Investigation Unit (SIU) that we successfully thwarted a big terrorist activity in the city," said Additional Inspector General of Police (AGIP), Karachi, Ghulam Shabir Shaikh, while talking to newsmen at Central Police Office (CPO) on Tuesday.
He said that the accused identified as Saeed Kamran alias Bilal, Salar Mohammed alias Khalid alias Danish, Amjad alias Ahmed Arif, Farhan alias Hussain, M. Muneer alias Azeem were arrested from the jurisdiction of Artillery police station with arms, ammunition and maps of sensitive areas. Shaikh said that the accused were also wanted in numerous other cases including attack on City Court in mid-2010.
