Congenital anomalies: free plastic surgeries being carried out at DUHS

In order to serve the poor patients suffering from congenital anomalies including cleft lip and palate and patients suffering contracture after acid burn, a free camp has been organised from November 22 to run till December 2, 2011. The camp has been organised by Dow University of Health Sciences in collaboration with House of Charity and Children's Fund International for Free Plastic Surgeries. This was informed at a press briefing by foreign plastic surgeons at Ojha Campus of DUHS.
They said that during the camp, team of international plastic surgeons led by world renowned plastic Surgeon, Professor Dr Joseph Agris and DUHS plastic surgeons are screening selected 50 patients for free surgeries. Dr Muhammad Masroor, Principal, Dow Intentional Medical College in his address briefed about the overview of the workshop. He said that it wi a multi-dimensional programme including surgeries and academic programs of Workshop and scientific session.
Expressing his views, Dr Joseph Agris stressed banning easily sale of acid in markets. He said people should be restricted from easy access of acid and related product. Sharing his experience of the workshop, he said that collaboration with Dow University's plastic surgeon was wonderful. Both the organisations have gained lot of knowledge and practice and learnt a lot from their experiences.
