World Snooker: Imran storms into last-16 stage

Pakistan's top ranked cueist Imran Shahzad stormed into the last 16 rounds of IBSF World Snooker Championship by beating compatriot Muhammad Asif in the last 32 round 5-2 in Bangalore (India) on Thursday. Diminutive Imran from Lahore appearing in his third global event, displaying better brand of potting and tactical positional play to overcome his team-mate. Imran started well by forging to 3-0 by smartly dipping the multi-coloured balls.
But bearded Asif Toba grabbed the next two frames to make it 2-3. Afterwards enjoying the vast international experience Imran seized the next two frames to sail into the pre-quarterfinal stage. Earlier in the first last 64 knock-out round, Imran Shahzad defeated Joris Maas of the Netherlands 5-2. After finishing on the top of his pool, Asif Toba got a direct entry into the last 32 stage.
