Trade volume remains low on grain market

Lean business was witnessed on the wholesale grain market on Thursday due to buyers' thin attendance, dealers said. On the cereal counter makai lost Rs 50 to Rs 2200-2225, gur low type followed same pattern, shed Rs 200 to Rs 4800, the best type retained overnight level at Rs 5600, other commodity items did not move any side in process of trading, they said.
On the rice sector Irri-white lost Rs 100 to Rs 2400-2500 due to decline in foreign countries' export orders and significant fall in world commodity prices, they added. No change was reported in prices on seed and grams sectors.
