Qaim chairs meeting of BIHR

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday presided a meeting of Board of Governors of Bilawal Institute of Historical Research (BIHR), Nawabshah, at CM House. The CM Sindh said that Sindh province is full of historical, cultural, literary aspects and crafts centre and there is an acute need to have constant and thorough study and research in this regard, said a statement.
He said that the trend of research seems to be declining but preservation and protection of historical and literary perspective and background is very essential. The CM Sindh stressed upon scholars, writers, poets and educationists to come forward and play their role for research task. He was confident that the research work would bring quality work and collection of important record.
The meeting of Board of Governors discussed the agenda in detail and decided to approve the draft rules and terms of reference of the Institute, with some amendments. It was further decided to form a Research and Publication Committee for the Institute comprising Dr Muhammad Laiq Zardari, Abdul Ghaffar Siddiqui, Muhammad Ali Maanjhi, Dr Mumtaz Bhutto and Dr Habibullah Siddiqui as its members.
Regarding 12 vacant posts, the Board decided to form a three-member appointment committee comprising Secretary Culture, Secretary Education and Director General of the Institute. It was also decided to hold award distribution ceremony of Institute at Karachi after Ashura.
The meeting was attended among others by Senior Minister Education Pir Mazharul Haq, Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas, Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr Nazir A. Mughal, Secretary Culture Abdul Aziz Uqaili, Secretary Education Muhammad Siddique Memon, Director General of Institute Dr Muhammad Laiq Zardari and officials concerned.
