Bus-stand owners asked to get licences renewed

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Transport and Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain has asked the owners of bus stands to get their licenses renewed without any further delay otherwise government would take stern action against them. He stated this while chairing a meeting here at the Transport Department on Saturday. He added that in future the registration of vehicles by Excise & Taxation Department would be linked with the NOC of the Transport Department.
The meeting besides others was also attended by the Secretary Transport Azmat Hanif Orakzai, Secretary Administration Hifzur Rahman, Director Transport Ammad Ali Lohani, Secretary PTA and Secretary RTA Peshawar. The meeting thoroughly discussed the affairs of the Transport Department and certain decisions were taken on this occasion. The Provincial Minister informed that the government would also classify vehicles route both Inter district and at provincial level and warned that the permit will be cancelled of those vehicles not fulfilling requirements of the departments.
Mian Iftikhar said that the government would not tolerate any mafia in transport department. He continued that the government had introduced E-governance system for keeping transparency and strengthening linkages with others institutions. He added that PTA, RTAs and MVEs offices would be linked with headquarter office through communication route and the data of route-permits of the entire province would be made available in all the transport offices of the province. The Minister maintained that quarterly meeting of the PTA, RTAs and MVEs would be made mandatory in order to ensure co-ordination between them in the best interest of the general public.
