Education Department approves three new development schemes

Three new development schemes under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2011-2012 pertaining to the Education Sector have been approved in the DDWP meeting. A statement said here on Saturday that the meeting was chaired by Sindh Secretary for Education Muhammad Siddique Memon.
It said that as per instructions of President Asif Ali Zardari and Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazhar- ul-Haq, the scheme of purchase of land for Sindh University Campuses at Dadu and Larkana, is estimated to cost Rs 40 million. The scheme has been prepared for establishment of Sindh University Campus at Dadu and Larkana to improve/ enhance the facilities by providing quality education at the door step for students of remote areas of Sindh.
Initially six Market Oriented Disciplines/ Programmes will be offered at Dadu Campus for BS/ B.Com and B.A, while five Academic Programmes at Larkana Campus. Secretary Education said the second scheme is Master courses for Teachers Training, and its estimated cost is Rs 41.800 million. Rs 19.730 million will be provided for financial support to the 39 candidates who complete their M.Phil and Ph.D. and Rs 21.327 million allocated for 50 in-service teachers for their M.Ed Programme.
