Argentine football legend Diego Maradona criticised Sunday what he called unfair refereeing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after his team Al Wasl was helld to a draw in a local match "Refereeing is bad. I would be a fool if I focused on counting referees' mistakes," Maradona said.
His Dubai-based team was held Saturday to a 2-2 draw by Al Shabab, a UAE squad, in a Profs League match. "Al Shabab players intentionally wasted time during the game without getting red cards, which instead went to my team," Maradona added.
"I feel sad for the level of refereeing. They should be fair."
Maradona often shouts and objects to decisions by referees in matches involving his team. He has been coaching Al Wasl since May under a two-year contract.
