Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said the event of Karbala reminds us of supreme sacrifices rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions for the cause of Islam. In his message on the eve of Youm-e-Ashura, he said the everlasting sacrifices of Shuhada-e-Karbala gave us a lesson for the propagation of truth without any hesitation and earning the blessings of Almighty Allah.
"The event of Karbala is such a battle between right and wrong, which gives us a lesson to fight against wrong," he added. According to him, Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions have set an example of courage and bravery by not bowing down before evil in Karbala.
Supreme sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions upheld the peacefulness, tolerance and moral values of Islam forever. The sacrifices of Shuhada-e-Karbala were lessons for the entire humanity. He stressed the need for promoting the philosophy of Hazrat Hussain (RA) to maintain peace in society. He said that today the country was passing through a very difficult time and facing terrorism, extremism and many internal and external problems. "Therefore, we have to unite on one platform for foiling the nefarious designs of enemies of peace by setting aside all differences. Religious tolerance and patience will have to be promoted for eliminating terrorism, sectarianism and chaos from the country," he added.
