Isolated rain, thunderstorm likely in upper parts of country

Isolated rain/ thunderstorm is expected to hit Rawalpindi, Hazara, and Malakand divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir in the next 24 hours, the met office said on Monday. It said foggy/misty conditions would prevail in some of the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Sukkur divisions during early morning hours.
"A shallow westerly wave affecting northern areas and likely to persist for next 48 hours," the office said in its daily weather synopsis, adding that mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Weather remained mainly dry in most parts of the country in the last 24 hours, the office said, adding that the temperature level in Skardu had been recorded at minus seven degree centigrade. Karachi weather is expected to remain dry with maximum temperature ranging between 31 degree centigrade and 33 degree centigrade in the next 24 hours, it said.
