The 26th death anniversary of Khursheed Begum, the mother of MQM chief Altaf Hussain, was observed on Monday with reverence. Gatherings were held at MQM offices in Interior Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Rich tributes were paid to Khursheed Begum and Fateha were offered for the blessing of the departed soul.
The main programme in this connection was held at Lal Qila Ground, Azizabad. Altaf Hussain's sister Saira Begum, Deputy Convenor of MQM Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar, Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, members of the committee, parliamentarian, office-bearers of various wings of the MQM and a large number of MQM workers and supporters, besides relatives of Khursheed Begum were present on the occasion. Maulana Jamil Rathore offered Fateha and prayed for the divine blessings for the souls of the mother of Hussain, his brother Nasir Hussain, his nephew Arif Hussain and other martyrs. Special prayers were offered for the good health and long life of Alfat Hussain.
